Alex is a passionate musical storyteller with decades of experience, creating sound scores across a diverse landscape. From the concert halls to the web, Alex's work has been featured in modern dance, TV, film, podcasts, and video games. His first love is for the orchestra, along with a deep affection for the nostalgia of 8-bit sounds. Alex is as comfortable working as an orchestrator as he is creating surround soundscapes in virtual reality.
But his deepest joy is working with others to create something uniquely beautiful. As a frequent collaborator with the software company Red Hat, Alex contributes to a wide spectrum of projects, ranging from documentaries about the open-source ethos, to high-level ad campaigns. He takes pride in adding a harmonious layer to the tech world.

Alex has been editing, recording, programming, designing, and toiling over virtual instruments for more than 15 years. First as a freelancer editor for companies like Gothic Storm and Sample Logic, and then in 2012, he co-founded a sampling company with partner Jonathan Churchill called Embertone. His work at Embertone lead to many high level collaborations, including with the Kronos Quartet, and also with the renowned violinist JOSHUA BELL. Working in detail with the virtuoso on his famous Stradivarius, Alex and Jonathan led their team to produce a world-wide success with the Joshua Bell Violin.
ALEX DAVIS is an American composer, sound designer, and virtual instrument producer with a passion for the process of discovery. As a composer, he draws upon years of experience in the concert and commercial music world, producing scores for films, video games, animations, live events, dance productions, and ad campaigns. As co-founder of Embertone, he strives to create expressive, realistic, and playable instruments. When Alex wears his sound design hat, he strives to create immersive sound worlds to delight the listener.
